Abstract: In the modern world, the law of copyright provides the legal frame work not only for the protection of the traditional beneficiaries of the copyright, the individual writer composer or artist, but also for the investment required for the creation of works by the major cultural industries, the publishing, film, broadcasting and recording industries, and the computer, software industry. Copyright is important not only to the individuals and industries which depend upon it for their livelihood but it also impinges one way or another on the daily life of members of the public or business. The object of Copyright Law is to protect the author of the copyright work from an unlawful reproduction or exploitation of his work by others. The long period of copyright encourages authors and artists to create works of literature, music and art. Copyright protection is essential to encourage exploitation of copyright work for the benefit of the public. There is no copyright in an idea as such. But once it is written down, the writing is the subject of copyright and no one is entitled to copy it on the plea that it was only an idea
